Bursa Metro launches two disaster‑response mobile units

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality’s Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba inspected the final stages of two new mobile vehicles designed for post‑disaster relief. The “mobile catering” unit will deliver hot meals and beverages, featuring refrigerated storage, a bain‑marie system and hygienic panels, while the “mobile charging station” can safely charge up to 160 mobile phones to maintain communication after emergencies.

The vehicles were built through a partnership between BUSKİ and BURULAŞ, using only municipal funds and staff expertise. The conversion of retired BURULAŞ buses achieved about an 80 % cost saving, and the units are slated for completion and deployment on 17 August.
