Dr. Daniel Acquaye urges African businesses to prioritize succession planning

Dr. Daniel Fahene Acquaye, CEO of Agri-Impact Ltd and Chairman of the Apostolic Professionals Network, has called on business leaders in Ghana and across Africa to prioritize succession planning and institutional structures to ensure long-term enterprise survival.

Speaking at the inaugural Apostolic Business Leadership Summit in Accra, Dr. Acquaye highlighted a trend where many African businesses collapse before founders can pass them to the next generation. He contrasted this with enterprises in developed economies, such as Europe, which often operate as multi-generational family businesses.

Dr. Acquaye identified several primary causes for these business failures, including weak organizational structures, inadequate financial management, poor succession planning, and an inability to manage leadership transitions. He urged entrepreneurs to implement systems that protect investments and allow for the reinvestment of profits to support continuous growth beyond the founder's lifetime.
