Dr. Domenicantonio Cordopatri coordinates emergency cancer surgery

Sergio Carrozza, an oncology patient from Taurianova suffering from stage four pancreatic and liver cancer, has publicly expressed gratitude to Dr. Domenicantonio Cordopatri for his life-saving intervention.

Dr. Cordopatri, the head of Radiology at the Polistena hospital in Calabria, identified the severity of Carrozza’s condition during a routine CT scan. After previously working in major hospitals in Northern Italy, Cordopatri returned to his home region of Calabria. Upon recognizing the urgency of the case, he personally coordinated Carrozza’s emergency transfer to the Policlinico Universitario ‘G. B. Rossi’ Borgo Roma in Verona.

In Verona, Carrozza underwent necessary surgery in the general and hepatobiliary surgery department led by Professor Andrea Ruzzenente. Carrozza described the doctor’s actions as an example of professional intuition and humanity.
