Dr. Dre expresses enthusiasm for AI in music and film

Producer Dr. Dre has voiced strong support for the use of artificial intelligence in the music and film industries. Speaking on the Listen & Laugh podcast hosted by Ice Cube and Mike Epps, Dre described the technology as a “whole new level of creativity.”

Dre compared the emergence of AI to the historical introduction of drum machines, synthesizers, and sampling. He stated that he would respect producers who use AI to emulate his mixing style and suggested that those who oppose the technology may simply lack creativity. He also noted that he has already begun incorporating AI into his own production processes to experiment with material.

While Dre expressed excitement, his former N.W.A. groupmate Ice Cube offered a more cautious perspective, supporting the use of AI tools while warning against letting computers take total control of the creative process.
