Dr. Eva Křížová presents nephrology research at symposium in Ostrava

Dr. Eva Křížová, head of the nephrology department at Tábor Hospital, presented at the XII. Educational Symposium on Modern Treatment of Kidney Failure held in Ostrava on October 8–9, 2026. She was the sole representative from a regional hospital among a group of speakers that included specialists from IKEM and various university and faculty hospitals in Prague, Hradec Králové, and Plzeň, as well as experts from France and Spain.

During her presentation, titled ‘Sodium Under Control,’ Dr. Křížová discussed the practical application of advanced dialysis technologies. She highlighted how regulating sodium levels is critical for fluid management and blood pressure control in dialysis patients, noting that excess sodium can lead to increased thirst, water retention, and cardiovascular strain. She demonstrated how modern dialysis monitors allow clinicians to track sodium concentrations and adjust treatment regimens to improve patient comfort and overall health outcomes.
