DR Group to relaunch Itala and Osca automotive brands
The DR Group is relaunching two historic Italian automotive brands, Itala and Osca, with a plan to introduce seven new models between late 2026 and 2027. The strategy involves combining modern technology and Chinese-sourced platforms with Italian design, specifically through collaborations with Italdesign.
Itala will focus on a range of SUVs and an electric city car. The lineup includes the Itala 35, a 4.4-meter SUV expected in September with a 1.5 turbo petrol engine producing 170 CV, and the Itala 56, which shares the same engine. The larger Itala 61 SUV, featuring a 2.0 turbo engine with 231 CV, is slated for release by the end of the year. An electric city car based on the JAC Yiwei 3 is expected in 2027.
Osca will offer the MT6 and MT8 SUVs, with the MT6 expected in September at an indicative price of approximately 49,000 euros. A highlight of the Osca relaunch is a mid-engine sports car planned for 2027, which may utilize a Lotus Emira platform and feature a supercharged V6 engine with a manual transmission.
