Dr. José Cabrera pledges vote to Vox leader Santiago Abascal

During a live broadcast of the television program ‘Horizonte’ on Cuatro, psychiatrist and forensic doctor José Cabrera publicly pledged his vote to Vox leader Santiago Abascal for the upcoming November 29 elections. Addressing Abascal directly on air, Cabrera stated, ‘Santiago, doctor Cabrera al aparato. Miedo nunca. El 29 de noviembre mi voto va a ser para ti.’

The 69-year-old medical commentator also drew criticism from program hosts Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter after making controversial claims regarding Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Cabrera suggested that Sánchez had acted under ‘transitory mental alienation’ or due to ‘substance consumption’ during a public appearance involving Begoña Gómez. The hosts intervened during the segment, with Jiménez noting that such statements were merely personal opinions that would circulate widely.

Cabrera, a former military parachutist captain and state official, has a history of controversial media appearances. He previously faced backlash for minimizing a 2016 bullying-related suicide case, which he had characterized as a ‘chorrada.’
