Dr. Kaan Taşer, prominent physician and union leader, passes away

Dr. Kaan Taşer, a prominent family physician and co-chair of the Antalya branch of the Health and Social Service Workers Union (SES), has passed away. Taşer served at the Konyaaltı Karşıyaka Family Health Center in Antalya and was a well-known advocate for healthcare workers' rights, primary care improvements, and social justice.

While his death has caused significant mourning within the medical community and the union, no official cause of death has been released. Dr. Taşer, who was originally from the Ürgüp district of Nevşehir, will be laid to rest in Ürgüp following a funeral service at the Ürgüp Musalla Mosque on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
