Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia meets TUC leadership in Accra

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, met with the leadership of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) at the Hall of Trade Unions in Accra. The meeting was part of a series of national consultations aimed at gathering diverse perspectives on economic and social issues.

Discussions focused on several critical labor and economic concerns, including the rising cost of living, the reduction of disposable incomes, and the demand for a sustainable living wage. Participants also addressed the growing issue of youth unemployment and the necessity of pension reforms to ensure dignity in retirement.

Additional topics included workplace inclusivity for persons with disabilities and broader economic strategies. Both parties explored methods to build a resilient economy capable of absorbing external shocks related to inflation, exchange rates, and global supply chains.
