Dr. Meho Kovačević enters politics for 2026 elections

Dr. Meho Kovačević, an orthopedic specialist from Zenica, has announced his candidacy for the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2026 general elections. Representing the BH Zeleni – Novo Vrijeme – Tuzlanska alternativa list, Kovačević will run in Electoral Unit 5, which includes Zenica, Žepče, Zavidoviće, Maglaj, Doboj Jug, Tešanj, and Usora.

Kovačević stated that his decision to enter politics stems from his professional experience in the healthcare system, where he frequently hears citizens' concerns regarding the cost of living, the migration of youth, and social injustice. He has identified healthcare reform as a primary priority, advocating for better funding of the Solidarity Fund, transparent waiting lists, and the modernization of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital, including its urgent center and intensive care units.
