Dr. Motte's 'Love is Stronger' Documentary Shows Loveparade Revival

The ARD documentary "Love is Stronger" follows techno pioneer Dr. Motte and his wife Ellen Dosch‑Roeingh as they work to resurrect the iconic Loveparade in Berlin under the new branding "Rave The Planet". Filmed from 2022 to 2025, the 90‑minute portrait details the duo’s efforts to secure the event’s name rights, organize the fifth edition of Rave The Planet on 15 August, and seek UNESCO recognition for Berlin’s techno culture as intangible heritage.

The film also reflects on the rise and fall of the 1990s techno movement, the 2010 Duisburg tragedy that claimed 21 lives, and the broader cultural legacy of the Loveparade. It premiered on ARD Mediathek on 31 July 2026, offering an intimate look at the challenges of reviving a massive rave festival while honoring its original spirit of peace, tolerance and freedom.
