Dr. Mária Bakos, veteran emergency physician, has passed away

The National Ambulance Service has announced the passing of Dr. Mária Bakos, a long-serving emergency physician. Dr. Bakos was a prominent figure at the Buda Ambulance Station, where she served for over four decades.

After earning her medical degree from Semmelweis University, she joined the service in 1978. Throughout her career, she obtained specializations in radiology and toxicology, serving as a highly skilled emergency physician.

Colleagues described her as a dedicated professional who was committed to mentoring younger generations. Beyond her clinical duties, she was noted for her strong sense of community and support for her fellow paramedics.
