The scientific community has expressed profound grief following the sudden passing of Dr. Nicolás Ortiz, the director of the CCT CONICET-CENPAT in Puerto Madryn.

Dr. Ortiz was a prominent researcher at the Institute of Marine Organism Biology (IBIMAR) and a key figure in the Network of Scientific and Technological Centers (Red de CCTs). Colleagues described him as a rigorous researcher and a dedicated defender of public science and technology in Patagonia and throughout Argentina. He was recognized for his commitment to regional research and his leadership within the federal management space.
