Dr. Petar Tsankov discusses impact of John Atanasoff Award

Dr. Petar Tsankov, a 2018 recipient of the John Atanasoff Award, discussed how the prestigious recognition for Bulgarian computer scientists facilitated his entrepreneurial success. The award, presented by the President of Bulgaria since 2003, recognizes exceptional global achievements in computer science.

Tsankov noted that his research into the automated verification of modern systems, including Web3 and computer networks, led to the creation of his first company, Chain Security. The firm became a top-five global entity in the Web3 sector, providing security audits for applications on the Ethereum platform, before being sold to PwC in 2020.

His subsequent work focuses on artificial intelligence, specifically developing models to verify and test neural networks to ensure they operate securely and do not produce hallucinations.
