Dr. Ramón Tallaj honored for medical philanthropy in Santo Domingo

Dr. Ramón Tallaj, a medical philanthropist and founder of the New York-based Somos Community Care, was recognized for his career achievements during an official visit to the Ciudad Sanitaria Dr. Luis Eduardo Aybar in Santo Domingo.

The recognition was presented by Dr. José Joaquín Puello Herrera, the energy company Seaboard, the Hispanic Basketball Association (HBA), and various sports and community leaders. Dr. Tallaj leads a network of over 2,500 healthcare professionals providing services to vulnerable communities and Medicaid and Medicare patients in the United States.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Manolito Prince, president of the HBA, and Luisín Mejía Oviedo, president of Centro Caribe Sports. Other attendees included representatives from the Dominican Olympic Committee and various local business leaders and athletes.
