Dr. Safiatou Diallo advocates for cultural heritage support in Guinea

Dr. Safiatou Diallo, president of the Center for Innovation and Research for Development (CIRD) and the Association of Guinean Historians, has called for the integration of cultural heritage into the Simandou Academy program. Speaking at the National Library on November 6, 2026, Diallo emphasized that Guinea's industrial and technological ambitions must not overshadow the preservation of the nation's history and identity.

Diallo highlighted a critical shortage of local experts in heritage management and conservation. She urged decision-makers to provide specialized scholarships for young Guinean historians and researchers to ensure that economic development is balanced with socio-cultural progress.
