Dr. Sazina Khan launches poetry collection 'She Walked Anyway' in New Delhi

Acclaimed author and poet Dr. Sazina Khan unveiled her new poetry collection, *She Walked Anyway*, on 3 August at the Casuarina Hall of the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The launch was followed by a panel discussion titled “Walking Through Storms: Women, Memory and the Making of the Inner Self.”

The event featured Prof. K. G. Suresh, Director of the India Habitat Centre, as chief guest; designer and theatre artist Oroon Das; choreographer Dr. Gilles Chuyen; and was moderated by writer and social‑development leader Meera Khanna. Khan described the collection as a meditation on endurance, autonomy and self‑authorship, noting that the poems—such as “Unannounced Becoming,” “Permissionless,” “Grace, Unrequested,” and “I Didn’t Ask for Light”—explore walking as a quiet act of defiance and survival. Written as a gift for her daughter Daneen, the book seeks to pass on dignity earned through adversity.
