Dr. Shrestha and Rameshwar Prasad Khanal to receive Hem Bahadur Malla Honour

The Public Administration Association of Nepal (PAAN) has announced Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha and former secretary Rameshwar Prasad Khanal as recipients of the Hem Bahadur Malla Honour.

Dr. Shrestha has been selected for the 2081 BS honour in recognition of his contributions to health services and institutional development, specifically his role in establishing and operating Dhulikhel Hospital. Former secretary and former Finance Minister Khanal will receive the 2082 BS honour for his work in promoting public administration, policymaking, and governance reforms.

The awards, which include a cash prize of Rs 200,000 each, were announced during a joint press conference by PAAN and Salt Trading Corporation Limited. The selection was made by a committee led by former secretary and former PAAN chair Krishna Gyawali. The honour was established in memory of Hem Bahadur Malla to recognize excellence in public service, management, and institutional development.
