Dr. Shriram Nene discusses wedding reception with Bollywood stars

Dr. Shriram Nene, husband of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, recently shared details regarding their 1999 wedding reception. Speaking during a cooking vlog hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan, Nene revealed that he did not recognize many of the high-profile guests in attendance, including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

A cardiovascular surgeon raised in Los Angeles, Nene explained that his lack of familiarity with the Hindi film industry stemmed from his upbringing in the United States, where he primarily watched films by directors such as Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. He noted that Amitabh Bachchan was the only industry figure he recognized due to having seen the film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.

Nene described the experience of the reception as feeling like a ‘prom king,’ noting that he simply waved at guests he did not know. He added that the celebrities present were very kind to him. The couple married on October 17, 1999, in California, after a brief courtship, and have two sons, Arin and Ryan.
