Dracena police arrest driver for false cargo theft report

The Civil Police of the State of São Paulo arrested a 69-year-old driver in Dracena after he falsely reported the theft of a cargo valued at over R$ 140,000. The driver claimed that two armed individuals had hijacked his shipment of 34,290 kilograms of beef tallow on the Marechal Rondon Highway.

Following inconsistencies in the driver's account, specialized police units conducted an investigation. The driver eventually confessed that the robbery never occurred; instead, he had diverted the cargo and sold it to a third party for R$ 25,000.
