Washington Huskies defeat Washington State Cougars 24-10 in Apple Cup

The No. 17 Washington Huskies defeated the Washington State Cougars 24-10 in the 118th Apple Cup at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Despite offensive struggles, Washington secured the victory behind a dominant defensive performance that held the Cougars to 228 total yards and forced three turnovers.

Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. contributed both through the air and on the ground, throwing for 268 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 61 yards and another score. Washington State, led by new head coach Kirby Moore and transfer quarterback Caden Pinnick, struggled to maintain momentum, going 0-for-11 on third-down conversions and missing two field goals.

While the Huskies' defense was praised for its effectiveness, Washington coach Jedd Fisch expressed frustration with the team's offensive execution and penalty yardage.
