Dragan Vučelić removed from RTS Kulturni dnevnik

Dragan Vučelić, a long-time presenter for Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS), has been removed from his role as the host of the program ‘Kulturni dnevnik’. Vučelić, who has hosted nearly 2,000 episodes over 13 years, stated he was not formally notified of the decision and received no official explanation or professional criticism regarding his work.

In a public statement, Vučelić suggested his removal might be retaliation for his vocal criticism of the public broadcaster, asserting that the service belongs to the citizens who fund it rather than those who manage it. He noted his history of standing with colleagues against insults and humiliation within the institution.

The employee group ‘Naš protest’ issued a statement supporting Vučelić, highlighting his decorated career and his role as a spokesperson for RTS employees during previous protests. The group suggested the move was an attempt to silence his voice.
