Draganić Municipality calls for drought damage reports from farmers

The Municipality of Draganić has issued a call to local farmers to report damages caused by a prolonged drought during the summer months of 2026. The municipality is collecting data on affected crops and plantations to determine the extent of the damage.

This data collection is a preliminary step to assess whether legal criteria are met to propose that Karlovac County officially declare a natural disaster. Under current law, a natural disaster can be declared if direct damage exceeds 20% of the municipality's original revenue from the previous year, if crop yields decrease by at least 30% compared to the three-year average, or if property values decrease by at least 30%.

Farmers are requested to provide details regarding the farm owner, the specific crop or plantation affected, the area impacted by the drought, and the estimated percentage of yield reduction. The deadline for submission is September 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
