Dragon Ball anime corrected early creative deviations from original manga
The Dragon Ball anime series, produced by Toei Animation, made creative changes to the original manga by Akira Toriyama during its initial 1986 broadcast. One notable deviation occurred during the first encounter between the characters Goku and Bulma.
While the original manga depicted Bulma stopping her vehicle just before hitting Goku, the anime depicted her running him over and subsequently shooting him. Toei Animation later addressed this discrepancy in episode 67. During a flashback sequence where Goku recounts the meeting to his grandfather Gohan, the scene was revised to show Bulma braking in time, aligning the animation more closely with the original manga source material.
