Dragon Ball franchise adds new Ultra Instinct form and plans Beerus anime remake
The Dragon Ball franchise announced a new Ultra Instinct transformation for Goku, named “Ultra Supervillain, Quelled,” which appears in the final story DLC for the video game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The update coincides with the series’ 40th‑anniversary celebrations and hints at further developments in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime, which will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner manga arc.
Separately, a new project titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has been outlined. The series will remake the original Beerus arc (chapters 1‑4 of the manga) and also rework the Resurrection F/Golden Frieza episodes (chapters 5‑13). The remake is slated for a Fall 2026 release in Japan and will feature extensive new cuts, re‑rendered footage, updated dubbing, and added sound effects.
Both announcements signal a broader push to refresh classic storylines for new and returning fans, with additional content expected across anime and video‑game platforms.
