Dragon Ball Super: Beerus enhanced anime to premiere October 2026

Toei Animation has announced the release of “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus,” an enhanced edition of the original 2015 anime series. Rather than a direct sequel, the project is a reconstructed narrative focusing on the first major arcs, including the awakening of the God of Destruction, Beerus, and the battle with Frieza. The production features redrawn animation, updated visual effects, and a revised structure to improve pacing and fidelity to Akira Toriyama’s original manga.

The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 11, 2026, via Fuji TV. Global streaming distribution will follow a staggered release schedule across multiple platforms. Crunchyroll and AnimeBox will offer simulcast streaming starting October 11. Other major services will follow shortly after: Prime Video on October 12, Disney+ on October 14, and Netflix on October 17 or 18, depending on the region.

A world premiere screening of the first episode recently drew 3,000 fans to New York Comic Con 2026 at the Javits Center, featuring appearances by the English voice cast and a video message from Japanese voice actress Masako Nozawa.
