Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remake introduces casting changes and narrative shifts

The enhanced anime remake, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, has introduced several significant changes in its recent episodes. A notable development is the unannounced recasting of the character Yamcha; Ryota Suzuki has taken over the role from Toru Furuya, who left the franchise following personal controversies in 2024.

Narrative and visual adjustments have also been observed. The series features a reconstructed story with new cuts and updated visual effects. Some viewers noted the removal of comedic scenes, such as Vegeta’s interactions during Bulma’s birthday party, in favor of a more serious tone and improved action sequences. Additionally, changes to prophetic imagery, such as Beerus’s visions, have sparked discussion among fans regarding the series' continuity and character origins.

While the remake offers enhanced animation and sound design, questions remain regarding its total episode count and whether it will cover later story arcs like the Tournament of Power.
