Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remake announced for 2026

Toei Animation is preparing to release ‘Dragon Ball Super: Beerus’, a remake of the ‘Battle of Gods’ arc. Rather than a direct continuation of the series that ended in 2018, this project is a complete reimagining of the original story. The remake will feature redesigned sequences, updated imagery, newly recorded dialogue, and revised music and sound effects to more closely align with Akira Toriyama’s original work.

The first episode is scheduled to premiere on Fuji TV in Japan on October 11, 2026. However, fans can see an early screening at the New York Comic Con on October 8. While international streaming distribution is expected, a specific platform for regions like Italy has not yet been officially confirmed.

Despite the upcoming release, questions regarding the long-term future of the franchise have emerged. Notably, Dragon Ball Super is absent from Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2027 lineup, an event where the publisher typically announces major upcoming projects. This absence suggests there may be no further major updates for the franchise through the end of the year.
