Dragon Ball Super manga signals return with new chapters

The Dragon Ball Super manga is expected to return with new chapters following a hiatus caused by the death of creator Akira Toriyama in March 2024. While an official return date has not been announced, the official V Jump account has confirmed the series is a “serializing” work, signaling that publication will continue.

Artist Toyotaro, who previously provided illustrations while Toriyama handled the scripts, has assured fans through a social media repost that he will return to the series. The manga, which began in 2015 as a sequel to the original Dragon Ball story, has been on hiatus since a special chapter was released in February of last year.

In addition to the manga, the franchise is expanding its anime presence. Toei Animation is set to produce Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Furthermore, a remake series titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is scheduled to begin as part of the autumn 2026 programming lineup.
