Dragonas IDV and Libertad advance to CONMEBOL Libertadores Women quarterfinals

Several teams have secured their places in the quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina. In Ecuador, Dragonas IDV advanced as the second-place finisher in Group B following a 1-1 draw against Palmeiras. After Palmeiras took the lead via a Bia Zaneratto penalty in the 76th minute, Evelyn Burgos scored an equalizer in the 84th minute to secure the qualification. Dragonas IDV will face the defending champions, Corinthians, in the next round.

In Group D, Paraguay’s Libertad also progressed to the quarterfinals after a 2-2 draw against Uruguay’s Nacional in Quito. Liz Peña and Naomi De León scored for Libertad, while Sinoxolo Cesane and Agostina Marcora scored for Nacional. Libertad advances with five points and will face the winner of Group C in the upcoming stage.
