Dragotești Fair Marks 55th Anniversary in Gorj County

The annual Bâlciul de la Dragotești in the commune of Dragotești, Gorj County, Romania, began today with its 55th edition. Organisers highlighted that the event, which coincides with the feast of Saint Pantelimon, will feature a folk music festival and traditional performances, drawing residents and folk‑culture enthusiasts together.

Mayor Vili Pasăre stressed that the fair will not strain the local budget thanks to a partnership with the Școala Populară de Artă din Târgu Jiu. He said the collaboration reduces expenses while preserving the celebration’s historic character, which has endured for over five decades and remains a key cultural gathering for the region.
