Drake and Don Toliver’s “Solar Eclipse” debuts at No. 5 on Billboard Hot 100

Drake and Don Toliver’s collaboration “Solar Eclipse” has debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track, which features an interpolation of Ella Langley’s record-breaking country hit “Choosin’ Texas”, marks Don Toliver’s highest-charting song to date and extends Drake’s record for the most Top 10 hits in Billboard Hot 100 history to 91.

The song is part of the deluxe edition of Drake’s album, HABIBTI (FOMO), released on October 2. This expanded reissue has driven a significant resurgence for the project, with the album climbing to No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Following the release, the album saw a 506% increase in equivalent album units, largely driven by a nearly 500% jump in streaming activity.

While “Solar Eclipse” provides a hip-hop reworking of the lyrics found in Langley’s original, the country artist remains credited for the writing. Meanwhile, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” continues to perform strongly, sitting at No. 2 on the Hot 100 behind Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero”.
