Drake and Live Nation open History music venue in Ottawa

Drake and Live Nation have officially opened History Ottawa, a new 2,000-capacity music venue located in the ByWard Market at 47 Rideau Street. This marks the first expansion of the History brand, which Drake helped launch in Toronto in 2021.

The two-level facility is designed to bridge the gap between small clubs and large arenas, featuring a layout that keeps audiences within approximately 30 metres of the stage. The venue includes premium event spaces, a VIP and corporate lounge for up to 200 people, and artist-focused amenities such as a custom-designed green room. Drake’s creative team was reportedly involved in the design and selection of furnishings for the premium areas.

The Wallflowers headlined the inaugural concert on August 20. The venue is expected to host roughly 150 events annually, with over 30 shows already announced for its upcoming schedule. Future performers include Modest Mouse, UB40, The Pretty Reckless, Kaleo, and 6LACK.
