Drake announces ‘Fear of Missing Out’ short film for September 15

Drake has announced a new project titled ‘Fear of Missing Out’ (FOMO), which he described as a ‘not so short film’ rather than a traditional music release. The project is scheduled to premiere on September 15 via a YouTube livestream at 9 p.m. ET.

The rapper noted that the film was ‘directed and scored by the family.’ This announcement follows weeks of speculation fueled by social media teasers, including family photographs and references to ‘FOMO 2026.’

A 25-second teaser clip features Drake piloting a neon yellow speedboat while a female voiceover delivers a philosophical narration regarding two versions of life: one where an individual avoids risk and withholds love, and another where they find themselves. The project follows Drake's May release of the ‘Iceman,’ ‘Habibti,’ and ‘Maid of Honour’ collection.
