Drake Hosts Third 'Strong Women, Stronger Drinks' Gala in Toronto

Drake held the third annual Strong Women, Stronger Drinks dinner at Casa Loma in Toronto, an invite‑only gala that celebrates women entrepreneurs, creators and community leaders.

The event was inspired by a 2007 networking gathering called “What Women Want,” created by Shannae Ingleton, founder of Kensington Grey. Drake said the earlier event left a lasting impression and motivated him to launch his own version.

During the evening Drake gave $50,000 cash prizes to ten women, totaling $500,000, and handed out brand‑new luxury vehicles, including BMWs, to selected guests. The gala was produced by Shantel Clarke of Reserved X Events, with additional support from That Good, led by Catriona “Coco” Smart. Clips of the giveaways and Drake’s interaction with guests quickly went viral on social media.
