Dramont celebrates annual Saint-Roch festival

The Dramont community held its annual Saint-Roch festival, organized by the Cercle Dramontois. The event honors the patron saint of street pavers, miners, quarry workers, and animals.

The celebration included a religious service led by Don Marc-Antoine on the Esplanade du Débarquement, followed by a procession toward the local quarry. During the ceremony, flowers were blessed in honor of the quarry workers, many of whom were of Italian origin and provided porphyry stone for road construction across France and Europe.

The festivities concluded with the blessing of bread and animals, accompanied by traditional music from the group ‘Lou Cepoun’ and local bravadeurs.
