On his podcast, Green suggested that New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson could have taken a smaller contract to provide the franchise with more flexibility, noting that players in roles similar to Josh Hart could have taken discounts to accommodate top earners.

Knicks veteran Josh Hart responded to these remarks on X, criticizing Green for commenting on the financial decisions of other players. Hart stated, “We have to normalize grown men not counting other people’s pockets.”

Green also addressed criticisms regarding the Denver Nuggets' decision to trade Peyton Watson due to luxury tax restrictions. He argued that teams must make difficult roster decisions when hitting the salary cap, telling critics to “shut the hell up” regarding the perceived unfairness of such moves.
