DRC civil society delegation visits Republic of the Congo
A delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is visiting the Republic of the Congo to study its civil society models and consultative council structures. Led by Bernard Botoula wa Bonsomi, the delegation includes representatives from women's organizations, persons with disabilities, and various associations.
The initiative aims to strengthen ties between the two nations through “citizen diplomacy,” leveraging the geographic proximity of Kinshasa and Brazzaville. The DRC delegation, which is marking 35 years of formal civil society existence, seeks to learn from the Congolese experience regarding citizen participation and mechanisms for engaging with public authorities to better adapt these practices to the DRC context.
