DRC launches population census mapping and business climate survey
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, authorities are launching major administrative and economic initiatives. Kinshasa Governor Daniel Bumba has called on residents to assist mapping agents for the second phase of the second General Population and Housing Census (RGPH-2). This effort aims to collect reliable data for the first time in over forty years to improve public policy planning in sectors such as infrastructure, education, and social services.
Simultaneously, President Félix Tshisekedi has ordered the launch of the 2026 edition of the National Business Climate Barometer. Following a previous score of 37 out of 100, the new survey seeks to measure the impact of recent reforms on the private sector. The goal is to identify persistent obstacles, such as administrative delays and fiscal unpredictability, to better guide corrective measures for economic operators.
