Dream Hair Station event collects 1,176 hair donations for cancer patients

The Network for Children with Cancer, in collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and various charitable units, organized the “Dream Hair Station” festival on October 18. The event collected 1,176 sets of natural hair to be donated to cancer patients.

Participants in the event included residents of Hanoi, children, and officers from the Hanoi Police Department, who assisted by cutting hair for donors. According to Ly Thi Hao, Head of the Social Work Department at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the donated natural hair helps patients regain confidence in social interactions and daily life while providing emotional support during their treatment.

Recipients of the donation included Ngô Thị Thương, a patient from Lào Cai, and 10-year-old Nguyễn Như Quỳnh, who is undergoing treatment for leukemia. Organizers emphasized that these gifts serve as both a physical aid and a symbol of community solidarity for those facing the psychological and economic challenges of cancer treatment.
