Dreame Technology expands from robot vacuums to electric vehicles in China
Chinese manufacturer Dreame Technology, known for its high‑end robot vacuum cleaners such as the Dreame D20 Ultra, D10 Plus Gen 2 and D9 Max Gen 2, announced its entry into the electric‑vehicle market in 2024. The move follows similar diversification by other Chinese tech firms like Xiaomi and Rox Motor, adding new competition to a market that already hosts 143 EV brands, though ten firms account for 84 % of sales. Domestic car sales in China fell 20 % in April, while exports rose 80 %, prompting manufacturers to seek growth abroad.
At the same time, Dreame’s robot vacuums are featured in a major Amazon discount promotion, offering up to 49 % off on models priced from R$ 356.90, aimed at Brazilian shoppers. The promotional lineup highlights Dreame’s market‑leading suction power (up to 13 000 Pa) and advanced features such as automatic dust‑bin emptying and laser navigation.
