Drees & Sommer report shows rising office presence
The Workspace Benchmark Report 2026/27, published by Drees & Sommer, indicates an increasing presence of employees in offices, even as mobile working remains widespread. The study, which surveyed 207 individuals across 17 industries, highlights the evolving needs of modern workspaces.
To address these changing requirements, NOVADIS suggests that companies focus on office design that supports actual daily workflows. Effective planning should integrate room layout, furnishings, and lighting to create specific zones for workstations, collaboration, meetings, and quiet retreat. Key considerations for redesigning workspaces include analyzing peak attendance days, the frequency of hybrid meetings, and the need for areas that balance concentrated individual work with frequent telephone calls or team discussions.
