Drenthe announces nominees for sustainability volunteer award

Five volunteer initiatives in the province of Drenthe have been nominated for ‘Hét Compliment van Drenthe 2026’. The nominees, selected from thirty applicants, are Stichting Voedseltuin de Pluimerije, Weeldenis, Duurzaam Westerbork, Zwembad De Wiekslag, and Stichting Beheer Over Entinghe.

This year’s theme focuses on sustainability, specifically addressing nature, food, circularity, and climate adaptation. The winner will receive a €3,000 prize to support their organization. The public can vote for their favorite nominee until October 31, and the final award will be presented by Deputy Yvonne Turenhout on December 7, National Volunteer Day.
