DREO recalls hundreds of thousands of space heaters over fire risk
DREO is recalling approximately 338,800 space heaters in the United States and 36,300 in Canada due to overheating and fire hazards. The recall, announced on October 29, 2026, involves model DR-HSH015, which are black ceramic electric heaters measuring about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that DREO has received 17 reports of the heaters igniting, resulting in three incidents of property damage and one hand burn injury. The affected units were manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026.
Consumers are advised to stop using the heaters immediately and contact DREO for a free replacement. To receive a replacement, users must unplug the device, destroy it by cutting the electrical cord, and provide photographic proof of destruction. The heaters were sold through various retailers, including Costco, Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, QVC, and Home Depot, both in-store and online.
