Dresden Monarchs win 2026 GFL Bowl title

The Dresden Monarchs have secured their second German Football League (GFL) title after defeating the Potsdam Royals 27:19 in the GFL Bowl 2026. The championship match, held at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, drew a record crowd of over 25,000 spectators.

Led by head coach Greg Seamon, the Monarchs entered the final with a perfect 14-0 season record. Despite a competitive game where Potsdam remained close, a decisive interception ten seconds before the end of the match sealed the victory for Dresden. This win ends the era of dominance for the Potsdam Royals, who were seeking their fourth consecutive championship.

The Monarchs' successful campaign was driven by key performances from quarterback Rocky Lombardi and wide receiver Montigo Moss. The victory marks Dresden's first championship since 2021.
