Dresden police use firearms to stop fleeing vehicle

Police in Dresden-Pieschen ended a high-speed pursuit of a red passenger vehicle early in the morning. The chase, which began in Coswig and headed toward Dresden, resulted in the total destruction of the fleeing vehicle.

The Dresden Police Directorate confirmed the use of firearms during the incident. At least four other vehicles were damaged, some severely, on Leipziger Straße. Five people, including some with serious injuries, were reported injured; all were occupants of the fleeing car. Emergency services, including the fire department and medical teams, responded to the scene.
