Germany: Legal rulings and criminal investigations reported

Several legal and criminal developments have been reported across Germany. In Uelzen, the Lüneburg District Court acquitted a 56-year-old farmer of murder and attempted murder after determining he was suffering from a mental illness that rendered him incapable of guilt at the time of the incident. He has been ordered to be placed in a psychiatric hospital.
