Dresden theater production addresses school challenges
The Theater Junge Generation in Dresden has premiered a new play titled ‘Smile’, which addresses contemporary challenges within the school system. Based on research conducted at local schools, the production follows the story of a fictional fourth-grade class to explore why students may lose interest in education.
The play highlights issues such as budget cuts affecting subjects like sports, art, and music, as well as the impact of staff reductions on school maintenance and cleanliness. It aims to provide a platform for children and adolescents to feel that their voices and concerns regarding their learning environment are heard.
