Dresdner Eislöwen appoint new Athletic Performance Coach

The Dresdner Eislöwen ice hockey team is expanding its coaching staff with the appointment of Christian Scherzberg as the new Athletic Performance Coach. Scherzberg, who has a background in professional volleyball, will work closely with head coach Bo Šubr to oversee individual and team athletic development, load management, and performance data analysis.

The club will utilize modern measurement and analysis methods, including the Catapult system, to collect and evaluate player movement and workload data. This information will be integrated into training plans and individual player management. Sport Director Jens Baxmann stated that the new position is a key step in the professional development of the team's sporting structures.

In recent competitive action, the Eislöwen secured a derby victory against the Lausitzer Füchse. Despite the win, the team faces injury concerns, with player Connor Korte unavailable due to injury.
