Drew McIntyre reveals pitch to Vince McMahon involving sword attack

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre revealed on the ‘INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet’ podcast that he once proposed a graphic storyline to former Chairman Vince McMahon. McIntyre suggested using his signature sword, Angela, to simulate a limb being severed during a WrestleMania segment.

Inspired by the realistic practical effects used in the film ‘Saving Private Ryan’, McIntyre proposed a sequence involving a pre-recorded backstage segment where a performer would appear to lose an arm following a sword strike. He noted that the pitch involved using actors with existing amputations to achieve a realistic visual effect.

While the storyline never materialized on WWE television, McIntyre expressed long-standing frustration regarding the lack of significant use for the weapon. He mentioned that he has since found an opportunity to use the sword in a more violent capacity within his upcoming micro-drama series, ‘Agent of Shadows’.
